Unwrapping a family night with Funily Box

Like most of you, my family has been home A LOT for the last year. Family night has been, basically every night due to literally everything being canceled and closed. It was once was such a gift to be able to have a night at home with the family, where we could eat dinner together, play a game, or watch a movie. Now it’s just kind of a given! I never would have thought I would have been bored with family nights, but when it becomes the new norm, you need a little help getting creative and coming up with some new material.

Enter Funily Box!

Funily Box is a curated family gift box that is sent right to your door, with all the materials you need inside to have a fun and unique family night. With a new theme each month, it includes a rare find game, gourmet snack, fun activity, and a custom Spotify playlist to get everyone in the groove.

Our first box’s theme was “‘Sup Doodle!” and included a fun Pictionary-like game called Scridoodle, Rice Krispie Treat recipes and ingredients (two different variations – yes we made both), a How-to Doodle activity, and a custom Doo-Wop Spotify playlist. We had a blast throughout the entire box. The boys doodled while I worked on the treats (see below for real live footage of the marshmallow thief that came with the box too).

Like I said before, we couldn’t choose just one of the Rice Krispie flavors, so we definitely made both. I mean, how can you choose between snickerdoodle or peanut butter chocolate chip?! We couldn’t even believe how good they turned out! The boys were anxious for a special treat, but the activities kept them busy until they were done. The box included a bag of mini marshmallows, Rice Krispie cereal, cinnamon/sugar topping, and cinnamon (I had to provide butter, vanilla, salt, chocolate chips, and peanut butter).

Scridoodle is a super fun game, very similar to Pictionary. The box says for ages 14+, so we modify it a bit so Holden (6) would be able to play. Each person took a turn drawing from the pile of cards, we set a timer for 3 minutes, and each person had to get everyone else to guess what they were drawing. This was actually great reading & drawing practice for H! He absolutely loved it.

All in all, Funily was a fun new way to have family night at home. Life has felt a bit repetitive, and it was really nice to have some new things to enjoy together from home. If you’d like to try Funily Box for your family, use code WILDLYGREY at checkout for a discount!
